How it Works

WALL PREPARATIONS

The first step is to make sure that the wall dimensions are correct to fit your mural. Buildings settle over time, which cause walls to shift, you may have to take this variance into account during installation.

Start by measuring the height at the starting point of your wall where you will be placing the mural (take note) then measure the end point where the mural is going to finish (take note). If there is no change in height then you can proceed to Step C, if you have a difference in height proceed to Step B..

Take into account the change in height of your wall when you are installing your mural. You will always use the floor as your line of reference. This will allow any extra material to be left at the top of the mural to be removed later on.

As in Step A, you'll want to measure the width of the wall to make sure it is straight. Start by measuring the top of the wall from end to end (take note) then measure the bottom of the wall from end to end (take note). If there is no variance in width then you can proceed to Step 2, if you have a variance, proceed to Step D.

Take into account the change in height of your wall when you are installing your mural. You will always use the floor as your line of reference. This will allow any extra material to be left at the top of the mural to be removed later on.

It is very important to make sure that the surface you are placing the mural on is clean and free of damages. Any imperfection in the wall must fixed before proceeding. For the best results, any loose paint, surface imperfections, nail heads, cracks or holes should be filled and sanded smooth. If you have just painted the wall, please allow 7-10 days for the paint to fully cure before installation for the best adhesion possible. Clean off any dirt, debris, or dust with a dry lint free cloth. DO NOT use water to clean the wall, as any moisture on the wall will affect the adhesive and not allow for proper adhesion.

If installing more than one panel, each panel will be marked with a number. It is recommended to review the panel order before placing them on the wall. It is preferable to do this on your table to prevent scratching the print.

HANGING YOUR MURAL

TOOLS REQUIRED:

Remove any faceplates that are on the wall (i.e. switches, outlets, thermostat)

Fill any holes and sand smooth any bumps to make sure the wall is flat and
clean.

Start by peeling back 36 inches of the STICKY wallpaper backing to expose the adhesive. Place the mural at the starting point of your wall. DO NOT peel off the entire backing.

To ensure proper adhesion, run the squeegee in a outwards motion from the middle of the print, starting at the top and working your way down. Run over the print with your squeegee several times to remove any air bubbles that might be trapped behind the mural. Be gentle to prevent scratching the print.

Peel the rest of the backing 6 inches at a time smoothing and removing any air bubbles with your squeegee. It is recommended to have a 2nd person on hand to hold the bottom of the panel as you are pulling off the backing.

Using a straight edge, trim off any excess material with your exacto knife (take note of the areas to be trimmed from the Wall Preparation section Step 1)

Once the first panel is installed, align the edge of the second panel with the first. Be careful NOT to align the second print with the floor or ceiling as they are commonly not level and will skew the image.

You will repeat Step 3 - 7 for each panel remaining.
